What’s Mine to Give?

In our church, we often ask, “What is mine to do?”

Lately, I’ve been asking a different question: “What is mine to give?”

When I stop and look around, I realise there’s so much abundance right here. I may not have endless resources, but I do have the ability to organise something small and simple that brings people together and shines a light on the work of Live Connection.

Our church is in a beautiful spot, and we’ve been wanting to connect more with our local community. So, I decided to host a couple of gatherings—a morning tea and a dinner. Nothing fancy, just heartfelt. About twelve people came to each. I invited friends from church, neighbours, and a few people from Live Connection.

It was amazing to see how everyone pitched in. Someone baked a cake for the morning tea. Another friend helped prepare the main course for dinner, and someone else brought dessert. People helped set up and wash up. I picked flowers from the garden and brought out my prettiest teacups and saucers.

There was no formal presentation about Live Connection, but conversations flowed naturally—about how we can support pastors in remote places and empower them to serve their communities.

And here’s the best part: my friend, who is also a Live Connection partner, was so inspired that she hosted a dinner at her home.

She raised awareness and funds for pastor training. We both know that these small contributions will make a big difference.

For us, success wasn’t about the dollar figure. Success was creating space for people to connect, share a meal, and talk about how we can respond to brothers and sisters who are struggling economically. The bonus? We raised extra funds to equip Live Connection pastors!”

In these places, hope can feel fragile.

“And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’” Romans 10:15

Your financial support of $70 a month contributes towards essentials like food, transportation, and training opportunities. This empowers them to keep sharing the Gospel in the local language and culture, disciple believers in remote communities, and bring hope and transformation to areas facing deep poverty.

It’s about more than money. It is a live connection.

Your support does more than meet practical needs. It breathes life into ministry. It tells these pastors, “You are not alone.” It reminds them that the global Church stands with them, cheering them on, praying for them, and investing in their calling.

You will receive a quarterly letter from your pastor to update you on their ministry. Communication is facilitated by Live Connection to ensure partner privacy and financial safety. We encourage you to read your pastor’s letter prayerfully, to respond with encouragement, and to share your pastor’s story with others to inspire further partnership.

And if you feel called to take the next step, consider joining us on a mission trip to Africa, Indonesia, or the Philippines.
