See the Need, Do the Deed
“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” – James 2:17
This powerful reminder sets the tone for our newsletter this month. At Live Connection, we’ve seen faith come alive—through generosity, partnership, and compassion. From providing Bibles to pastors across 14 regions to delivering emergency food relief in Malawi, your faith has produced good deeds that glorify God and bless His people. Thank you for being part of this live connection!
Giving bibles to Pastors
This month, your faithful actions planted seeds that will bear fruit in eternity. Through the generous support of our Live Connection partners, we raised $5,000 to provide over 130 Bibles to pastors across 14 regions . These Bibles will lead to transformation and growth, equipping leaders to share the Gospel and fruitfully disciple others in their communities. Watching the joy of our pastors receiving their own bibles will surely remind you of what a precious gift we all enjoy in being able to reach for our own bibles. We urge you to keep spending time in the Word, and to also remember the joy you experienced when you first discovered God’s message of love and redemption.
We’re also excited to highlight one of our partners, John Ravesteyn, and his heartfelt book, Family Stories of a Migrant Child . This collection of stories offers a touching glimpse into the journey of migration, family resilience, and faith. Proceeds go towards the ongoing Live Connection Bible Fundraiser .
Spotlight on Zambia
Zambia is a vibrant and diverse country located in southern Africa, known for its stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and warm-hearted people. With over 70 ethnic groups, Zambia is a tapestry of traditions, languages, and faith. The people of Zambia are resilient and community-oriented, often facing challenges with remarkable strength and unity. Despite economic hardships in many regions, there is a growing hunger for the things of God and a spiritual awakening amongst its people.
We are honoured to support three incredible regional leaders in Zambia: Kamulile Piri in Lusaka who mentors 5 pastors; James Sibulowa in Livingstone who mentors 20 pastors and Moses Makanta in Isoka who mentors 24 pastors. These leaders are faithfully providing guidance and training, multiplying the impact of the Gospel across their regions.
Prayer Points for Zambia:
A bountiful physical harvest to combat ongoing food insecurity
A spiritual harvest of lost souls coming to Christ
Provision of more Bibles for leaders and new believers
Here are some highlights from our Zambian Ministry reports:
“I led a team of my members in my church to a place called Ngombe where we planned to go and start a church. An evangelism campaign was conducted in the village. During the evening, people were coming to one place to listen to my messages. Those who received the gospel were being counseled by my team members every evening. During the day we were going out conducting one to one personal evangelism. We had 26 of them that got received the gospel.” Pastor Patson Sichula, Isoka
“My focus in the last quarter was mainly training selected people who have leadership potential, so that we can raise more workers. The Lord Jesus said the field is big but the workers are few; pray the Father sends more workers in the vineyard. I believe that as we pray we must also raise and train more workers.” Pastor Josephat Mwanza, Livingstone
“In the last quarter we had youth training where we were teaching them how to do evangelism and they were very much impacted and joyful about the training. We want to see the youths get involved more and more in evangelism. This is so because the youths have the energy and zeal once they are properly taught they can increase the church.” Pastor Joseph Siatulwe, Livingstone
“The radio ministry has continued to bear more fruit. The listeners have been keeping me busy on a daily basis. They call me to learn more about salvation. I have been counselling more of these people, leading them to the way of salvation.” Moses Makanta, Isoka

Giving Food Relief to Malawi
In response to a severe food shortage affecting the people of Malawi, our Vice-President, Dianne Wheeler, asked her church to pray—and the Bundeena House Christian Community Church responded with action. Together, they not only prayed for our 51 Live Connection pastors in Malawi, but last Sunday they raised $3,650 to also provide emergency food relief. This beautiful miracle is an example of faith leading to tangible love and care.
Malawi is facing a severe food crisis , with over 6.8 million people—more than a third of the population—struggling to meet basic food needs. According to the 2025 Global Report on Food Crises, 5.7 million Malawians are experiencing acute food insecurity, driven by a combination of economic fragility, climate shocks, and a significant maize production shortfall of over 500,000 metric tonnes. Malawians have been pushed to the brink (Nyasa Times, 18 Aug 2025) . If you would like to help us provide food relief to pastors in affected countries, please donate .
At Live Connection, we believe that faith is not passive —it moves, it acts, it gives. This month’s theme, “See the Need, Do the Deed,” reminds us that when we open our eyes to the needs around us, our faith compels us to respond with love and action. Whether it’s providing Bibles, mentoring pastors, or feeding the hungry, every deed done in faith becomes a testimony of God’s goodness.
James 2:18 – “Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.” Let’s continue to be a people whose faith is visible through the good we do in Jesus’ name.
Blessings,
The Live Connection Team
